I have no choice but to accept contract work at the wages the employer sets. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What percentage of Craigslist job postings are actual jobs and not just a ploy by a recruiter to get you into their office?  &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Now I&amp;#39;m being offered a two-week trial period to see if I can &amp;quot;cut it&amp;quot; and if I can, I get a one-year contract, no benefits.  If I don&amp;#39;t cut it I lose UE Benefits and a job.  In this economy I can&amp;#39;t imagine a lousier bet.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;If you want to work at all, you&amp;#39;ll have to be placed by some agency.  And, if you can even land a contract at all, it&amp;#39;ll be at much reduced wages.  Lower than 1999 wages, in fact. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;LinkedIn helps, sure.  They contacted me again on LinkedIn after a I was passed over six months ago.
