I have no choice but to accept contract work at the wages the employer sets. <br /><br />What percentage of Craigslist job postings are actual jobs and not just a ploy by a recruiter to get you into their office? <br /><br />Now I&#39;m being offered a two-week trial period to see if I can &quot;cut it&quot; and if I can, I get a one-year contract, no benefits. If I don&#39;t cut it I lose UE Benefits and a job. In this economy I can&#39;t imagine a lousier bet.<br /><br />If you want to work at all, you&#39;ll have to be placed by some agency. And, if you can even land a contract at all, it&#39;ll be at much reduced wages. Lower than 1999 wages, in fact. <br /><br />LinkedIn helps, sure. They contacted me again on LinkedIn after a I was passed over six months ago.
